Middle School

Small Enough to Be Known.
Strong Enough to Be Ready.

Becoming their own

Middle school is where the investment in Cross pays off. The friendships are deep. The faith is becoming their own. The teachers know exactly when something's wrong, and so do the other students.

This is where the relational model you've been building since Pre-K delivers its most powerful results.

If you're thinking about whether to stay or go, here's what families who stayed want you to know.

What learning looks like at cross lutheran

11 student Safety Net

In a class of 11 students, nothing goes unnoticed, and no one goes unsupported.

"We have a small class. We only have 11 kids. If someone's upset, we all immediately pretty much know. We'll either tell a teacher or we'll go and sit with them."
-Cross 8th Grade Student

Depth over breadth

Yes, the class is small. But these students know each other in a way that a class of 200 never will. They've been through things together. They hold each other accountable. They show up for each other, not because a teacher told them to, but because that's the culture they've grown up in.

"We're all brothers and sisters through God."
-Cross 8th Grade Student

Unique Expereinces

Handbell choir. Veterans Day multigenerational programs. Student-led service. These aren't resume builders. They're character builders.

"She learned handbell here, something she'd never encountered before."
-Parent of Cross 6th Grader

Every Learner Belongs Here

One of our current 8th graders came to Cross from public school with ADD and dyslexia. At her previous school, she felt overlooked and underestimated because of her learning differences. At Cross, she made honor roll or high honor roll every year. She's now heading to a competitive high school with confidence.
That transformation didn't happen because we lowered the bar. It happened because our class sizes let teachers actually see her and teach to her strengths.

Cross also includes our Student Support Program (SSP) in tuition. Our biggest competitor charges thousands of dollars extra for the equivalent.

"At Cross, nobody judges you for learning
differently. Everybody feels the same."

-8th Grade Student

"I would send my child here
because I know that they are
all dedicated in the same
way I feel like I'm dedicated."

-Faye, 4th Grade Teacher

Our Teachers choose Cross

Cross teachers aren't here by default. They chose this school because it lets them teach differently: with creativity, with faith, with freedom.

"We aren't going to do status quo."
Mrs. MacArthur, 3rd Grade Teacher

Miss Faye, our 4th grade teacher from England, heard a colleague singing during her first week at Cross. She said it changed everything for her, and that she would send her own child here.

"I would send my child here because I know that they are all dedicated in the same way I feel like I'm dedicated."
Faye, 4th Grade Teacher

When teachers are passionate and invested, children feel it.

Friendships get deeper every year

By elementary school, Cross friendships aren't new. They're becoming the foundation your child stands on. Children who've been together since Pre-K or kindergarten develop a level of trust and care that larger schools simply can't replicate.

"I've made (friends with) the whole class, basically."
-Cross 2nd Grader (transferred from homeschool)

These aren't just school friends.
They're the people your child will text from college, meet for holidays, and remember for the rest of their lives.

Come it in action!

The best way to understand Cross Elementary is to visit during a school day. Watch a lesson. See the class sizes. Meet the teachers. Schedule a tour with Courtney. She'd love to show you what "not status quo" really means.

Financial aid and ESA vouchers are available.
Don't let cost be the reason you don't visit.
