High School Hybrid

Do School.
Do Life.

The Start of something new.

The High School Hybrid at Cross Lutheran isn't a smaller version of traditional high school. It's a fundamentally different model, designed for self-motivated learners who want to stay in the Cross community and take control of how they learn.

Morning: Academics. Self-paced, fully accredited online coursework. Students work through their academics independently, at their own pace, in a supervised campus setting. This is a real diploma, fully accredited and recognized.

Afternoon: Life. Community engagement, life skills, and campus involvement. The hybrid model doesn't just prepare students for college. It prepares them for adulthood.

A Different kind of
High School experience

We are completely transparent about our model because we want every student to thrive. This program intentionally trades the traditional high school experience (crowded hallways, large peer groups, and consistent teacher oversight) for a collegiate, independent-study environment. It isn’t a replacement for a traditional classroom, it’s an alternative for students who are ready to take ownership of their education. If you student needs a highly structured, traditional setting, there are wonderful local options we happily recommend.

If your student is ready for independence,
this might be their perfect fit.

A sutdent story

One of our hybrid students has been at Cross since kindergarten. She chose to stay for the High School Hybrid, and she carries a 4.0 this year.

What's interesting is that her learning style actually benefits from the self-paced format. Fewer distractions. More control over her own time. When school briefly moved online, she was a month ahead of everyone else because independent work is where she thrives.

She was also confirmed at Cross by her own choice. This program let her continue growing academically and spiritually in the community that raised her.

"She's got a 4.0 average this whole year."

At Cross, your child will be loved. Your child will grow in their love for Jesus, in their academics, in their relationships.

What about sports?

This is the most common question, and the answer may surprise you.
  • Hybrid students are student-athletes. Our hybrid students are able to participate in sports while managing their academics around sports seasons, working ahead during lighter weeks so practice and games never conflict with school..
  • Leave Early, Work Ahead. You don’t have to choose between focusing on academics or athletics, our hybrid high school program offers the ability to do both.

Cross competes on character, not championships. And for most families, when they really think about what they want from youth athletics, it's participation, growth, and growing up well. That's exactly where Cross excels.

Come it in action!
