We are starting our return *toward* normal! Learn more:

Reopening Together

Reopening

One of the stated VALUES that we as the Cross Lutheran Church & School Ministry hold is Seek Unity in Jesus.  In part, it states:  Until Jesus comes again, we are committed to gathering often in both small and large groups of people.  When we are together, we will be open and genuine in our interactions.  How we love and treat each other matters greatly to Jesus.

So, with that in mind, we are excited to tell you that the time has come to continue to the next stage of returning—not to, but toward—normal.  We believe this is an important point.  We are not able to “flip a switch” and everything be the way it was 13 or 14 months ago.  Guided by our Reopening Task Force, we are going to begin incremental adjustments to increase the on-campus participation of our Cross Family.  And doing so while caring for each other

Updated Worship Guidelines

Return toward

on-campus learning:

Lord willing, we will resume in-person Bible Class and Sunday School on Sunday, April 11, 2021.

We are eager to learn together in this way after all these months! For now our plan is to offer one Adult Bible Class that will be held in the Fellowship Center at 10am on Sunday mornings.

Seating Arrangements

Chairs will be set up in groups of two, three, or four “theater-style” with 6 feet of separation between the groups.  Attendees should be seated 6 feet from others that are outside of their household.

Seating Sections

We will have 2 sections of chairs.  Section A will be designated for those who consider themselves At-Risk. There should be at least 6 feet of separation from Section B.  Anyone seated in Section A must wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth at all times. Section B will be for all other attendees.

Cleaning Plan

Restrooms and doors will be wiped down with a germicidal cleaner at the completion of the class. Chairs will be stacked and stored at the completion of the class and do not need to be cleaned prior to storage.

Connect with Cross

The periodic new member class [Connect With Cross] will be held in the band room in the Fellowship Center.

The children/youth classes will be held in designated classrooms within the school buildings

  •  Existing Cross Lutheran school policies and practices will be followed with regard to mask wear [required], physical distancing, sharing of school supplies, etc.
  • Classrooms will be cleaned in accordance with existing school policy at the completion of the class.
  • Restroom surfaces and doors will be wiped down with a germicidal cleaner at the completion of the class.
  • Singing will be allowed as long as children can maintain distance.

Coffee will be served outside as we begin this reopening process.  When conditions improve further, we will begin serving food again.  The food will be served (no self-service yet) so that a limited number of people touch the food and drink.

Worshiping On Campus:

Please also be aware that our Elders (with the guidance of our Reopening Committee) have decided we will be upholding our most current COVID-19 policy, just as we now follow it on Sunday mornings these days. To learn more about what to expect, simply click the button below:

REOPENING POLICY

If you prefer to wear your mask throughout the entire worship service you are welcome to do so wherever you choose to sit. For those who wish only to be seated near others who will also wear a mask the entire time, we have set aside one entire section of our Sanctuary. Called "Section A", this area also has its own dedicated entrance that leads directly into our large parking lot.

Worshiping Online:

We also recognize that many of our Cross family and beyond are unable to join us in the sanctuary this year. With you in mind, we will be offering a livestream of our Easter Sunday worship service in real-time at 8:30am. Lord willing, you will be able to join us through any of our usual options by clicking one of the links below:

This year has been so difficult for so many of us, for so very many different reasons. Yet one powerful truth continues to build us up: Jesus is risen! (He is risen indeed! Alleluia!) And this is most certainly true - no matter what we go through. This will be at the heart of what we celebrate together on Easter Sunday! Until then, may you have a blessed Lent and Holy Week. We look forward to worshiping together with you soon!

...You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you to Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you...
